1. Acceptance of terms
By using the Ames Family Hub website, mobile application, or physical facility, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don’t agree, please don’t use our services.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Family memberships cover the parent or guardian and listed family members.
3. Account responsibility
You’re responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You’re responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
4. Membership and payments
- Memberships and subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled.
- Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period; no partial refunds.
- Pricing may change with 30 days’ notice to existing members.
- Failed payments will trigger automatic retries; if unresolved, services may be suspended.
5. Birthday parties
Birthday parties require a deposit at booking. Deposits are refundable for cancellations 8 or more days before the party. Cancellations within 7 days of the party are non-refundable.
6. Childcare services
- Children must be checked in and out by an authorized adult.
- You must disclose any allergies, medical conditions, or behavioral needs.
- We follow Iowa DHS licensing requirements for our licensed childcare program.
- Late pickup fees may apply.
- We reserve the right to refuse care for children in active illness or distress.
7. Code of conduct
You agree to:
- Treat staff, other members, and their families with respect
- Supervise your children as appropriate for their age
- Follow posted rules in each Hub zone
- Not bring alcohol or illegal substances onto the premises
- Pay for any damages caused by your family
We may suspend or terminate memberships for repeated or serious violations.
8. Liability and risk
Use of the Hub’s play spaces, gym, and equipment involves inherent risks. By using these spaces, you accept those risks. You agree to release the Hub from liability for ordinary injuries that occur during normal use of the facilities. This does not waive liability for gross negligence or willful misconduct.
9. Hub Bridge (reduced-fee) program
Reduced-fee memberships are awarded based on documented financial eligibility and slot availability. Eligibility is reviewed annually. We may modify or end the program at our discretion.
10. Intellectual property
All content on our website and app, including text, photos, logos, and branding, is owned by the Ames Children’s Museum and Family Hub and protected by copyright. You may not reproduce or distribute it without permission.
11. Photos and media
We may take photos at events for marketing purposes. We will obtain consent for any photo identifying specific children. You can opt out of marketing photos at any time.
12. Termination
Either party may terminate the membership relationship. We may suspend or terminate accounts for code of conduct violations, non-payment, or fraud.
13. Disclaimers
Our services are provided "as is." We make no warranties beyond those required by law. We’re not responsible for issues caused by third-party services (e.g., Stripe, Supabase) that we use.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by Iowa law. Disputes will be resolved in Story County, Iowa courts.
